The pope says that marriage is not an absolute right. The asshole speaketh again!

Getting married doesn't guarantee that a couple (of whatever sexual leaning) will stay together forever. To think so is idiotic. Most marriages, like relationships, break up after a couple of years. That's life.

People - by their very nature - break promises all the time. They also change (both mentally and physically) as they get older, developing different needs, values and habits as the years pass.

Marriage is nothing more than a relationship verified by a piece of paper. For many, it's also verified by god.

But I'm an atheist, so let's not bother with all that bullshit.

Suffice to say that I don't need a piece of paper or a creepy, god-loving cretin to tell me that I'm together with someone or that I want to share my life with that person.

The length of a marriage - or a relationship of any sort - depends on how much effort you're prepared to put into it.

When things go wrong in life, you make an effort to put them right; when that doesn't work, you move on.

All individuals have different thresholds and different levels of tolerance.

All people are different.

But when a man who has never been married and who wears a funny dress and a silly hat all his life and calls himself the Vicar of Christ and lives in a massive fucking palace and doesn't know the meaning of poverty and hunger starts dishing out orders on what the rest of us can and can't do with our lives, I get very pissed off indeed.

Apparently, Pope Benedict has just told priests to do a better job counseling would-be spouses to ensure that their marriages last. He also said that no one has an absolute right to a wedding.

Who the fuck does he think he is!

He made the comments in his annual speech to the Roman Rota - the Vatican tribunal that makes decisions on marriage annulments.

He also said that better pre-marriage counselling could help avoid a "vicious circle" of invalid marriages.

What the hell is that supposed to mean?!

Who the hell gave the Roman Catholic Church (or any other religious 'sect', come to that) the right to tell me how to live my life?!

Oh, yeah. I forgot. It was Jesus LMFAO

Assholes, the lot of them!

Blair expresses regret for Iraq war deaths. What a bastard!

At the Chilcot inquiry today, Blair told officials that he regretted "deeply and profoundly" the deaths of British troops and Iraqi civilians.

One person in the audience shouted out "It's too late!"

He'll never be tried for war crimes, of course. The Bilderberg Group will make sure of that.

Did you know that in early 2009, he launched a new organisation about religion and god called the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.

What a righteous asshole!

Not dead, just resting - I wish you all a very Happy New Year. May it be better than 2010 (which was friggin' awful). Wake me up if you want more of my directness.
